Day 2544: Day After Day

August 14 is not just another day. It is a day that jarred our lives of their normal orbit. For 7 years now we have approached this day with memories and trepidation. Ground zero. But it also has left a reflection of the strength of your position in our lives. Our continued centering on all the things so important to you: sports, family, and friends. 

This day is in the starboard shadow of an annual golf event where we celebrate you and more importantly the importance of sports and life: As you reflected, they are the same word spelled differently. We continue to trudge through life skipping stones between events that help us navigate our way. But it is with you in mind that we turn them into meaningful events. Every day. And with your presence.

LT, Sev-Beanz, and I will be on the golf course today, again exposing ourselves to a game you loved. And doing a very bad job of it. When we are done golfing, we'll drive over to Shadow Hills to walk by the green where you drove a lawn mower over a sprinkler head. We’ll think of you.

We love you buddy and only wish you could be here to cajole us along.
