Dogg Man,

Incomprehensible to move forward and impossible to stay in the past. So, we measure time only in the moment and that is where we focus. Another year and so much has happened and then again life remains the same. Time is silent until punctuated by events., like your birthday. You would be 35. Though very much too young to be gone, you are and will remain the bright light you always were, for us and everyone

The year since your last birthday has witnessed events that are preponderant: Your friends with new babies and our friends with new deaths. Accidents and events, many withstanding as the outcomes yet to be determined. In the end, the days roll by and time is measured by the minute and the day, eventually rolling up to the year, yet another year. For us, it is now with you.

The weather remains constantly variant, the past determinant, and the future uncertain. So, in the end, measurement remains a bit futile. Best to roll like you did and just let it go. Remember that which is important and ignore everything that cannot be understood or controlled: best left outside of our presence. As you would do, be who you are and stay in motion with what you do. Love the movement of an active life, even if you don’t excel. And most certainly don’t measure the outcome in points or speed, just be. Fun, witty, pleasant, and on your game.

So, after the past couple of thousand days, we plan to take up the game of your passion: Golf. Again, we plan to manage clubs and balls very badly and ignore its measurement. But you will be with us, which is all that counts. Your presence is with us always, every minute of every day. And for that we are thankful.
